“GO TANGO” & “GONE BANANAS”
Single UltraJet 305 waterjets were upgraded to GO TANGO & GONE BANANAS, two rejetted 9 meter (30') thrill ride/excursion vessels. Built by Llandudno Boat Company, using a Revenger GRP hull design, the vessels provide tourist rides from the North Shore of Llandudno, Wales. Power is provided by a 272 kW (370hp) Iveco N60 370 diesel engine. The UJ305 reversing deflector is actuated by Ultra Dynamics' hydro-mechanical control system to provide responsive maneuvers. The thrust provided by the UltraJet permits the craft to accelerate quickly, get onto plane and be ready for the next maneuver. Speeds of 38 knots with full passenger load were reported. Boat owner David Storer stated “The UltraJet 305 paired with the 272 kW Iveco engine is just amazing, we originally had a Castoldi on one of the craft and a Saro surface drive fitted on the other, which simply couldn’t easily get on plane with a full passenger load and only achieved some 28 knots!”

The UJ575 reversing deflectors are independently actuated by Ultra Dynamics' two-lever electrohydraulic control system to provide responsive maneuvers. The thrust provided by the twin UJ575 permits CODZILLA to accelerate quickly and be ready for the next maneuver. Speeds of 37 knots (42.5) mph with simulated full passenger load recorded during sea trials. MP7921

WORLD RECORD BOAT FREE FALL
Norwegian boat builder Norsafe recently tested their GES 50 lifeboat by dropping the boat 52 meters (170 ft) from a crane. The realistic test included 90 simulated passengers of 90 kg each strapped into their seats. These lifeboats are used for evacuating crew from offshore oil rigs.
While not the first time Norsafe have “dropped” their boats, this was the first to be equipped with UltraJet propulsion and for no damage to the hull and propulsion system. Survival includes being able to move away from the rig under own power.
