ROV
–SUPPORT VESSEL
A single UltraJet 305HT propels ‘Lisa Marie’ a new 11m (36’) aluminium ROV-Support
vessel designed and built by Kåre Holthe & Sønner AS, Norway. Powered by a
single Volvo Penta D6-370 engine coupled to a single UltraJet 305HT waterjet
via a ZF gearbox to return speeds of 29 knots with a weight of approximately
5 tonne. Ultra’s hydromechanical (HM) control with a single helm lever
operates the reverse deflector. A bow thruster is powered from the PTO on
the gearbox. An electric powered winch capable of lifting 500 kg deploys a
remote-operated vehicle for fish farming survey work. The result of which is
time and cost savings for the owner’s aquaculture clients.

305 PROPELS “MYRMIDON”
This 32.5' bow-picker fishing boat "Myrmidon" built by Petrazelka Brothers
of Mount Vernon, WA is propelled by a single UltraJet 305 and powered by a
Caterpillar C7 diesel engine rated at 455 bhp (339 kW) at 2500 rpm via a
Twin Disc 5075 transmission. The reverse deflector is operated with Ultra’s
hydromechanical (HM) control system. Owner Thea Thomas operates Myrmidon in
Alaska's Copper River Fishery, stated “I am absolutely thrilled with my new
boat, the more I run it the more I like it. After 20 years of having
outdrives, the ease and stress free operation of a jet is amazing.
Everything is easier with the jet, especially maneuvering the boat while
around the net. The UltraJet 305 paired with the Cat C7 seems to be an
excellent combination." MP7887

305 FOR 31' BOWPICKER
A single UltraJet 305 propels this aluminum bowpicker operating in Cordova,
Alaska. Owner Jeff Phillips replaced the originally installed jet with the
UltraJet matched to the existing Volvo 63L engine. Jeff states, "I am ...
able to run 100-200 rpm's lower with the Ultra Jet than I did with the
Hamilton (jet), and my speed is better than before, even at those lower
rpm's. It will definitely push more weight, although I haven't determined
what it won't push. I have been able to plane with 800-1000 pounds of fish
onboard in the ocean... . With the Hamilton, I virtually was done planing
with half of that weight." MP7932

NEW WORKBOAT
ACHIEVES NEAR 40 KNOTS
This 45' workboat is propelled by twin UltraJet 340 units each powered by a
430 hp Cummins 6CTA8.3M diesel engine via ZF305 transmission. Other than
that, we let the boat owner/operator speak for the UltraJet units: "We were
very impressed by the performance of our new boat; it's very responsive and
jumps onto plane in no time. The maneuverability that the jets provide us
with is exceptional and the load carrying capabilities and speeds we are
achieving are also impressive. With one quarter of fuel and a crew of two we
are getting close to 40 knots top speed! This is better than we had ever
hoped for. On one occasion we added an extra 8 tons of load to the boat and
were still able to get 28 knots! That was really impressive! In another we
towed a boat that weighed 100 tons at a speed of 12 knots." ME6417
